The Smithfield,
Ohio Funeral Home building was built in 1869 and is a registered
historical landmark in Jefferson County. The funeral home was started
in 1959 by Jim and Julia Nightingale. Jim retired in 1985 and passed
away in 1993. Julia Nightingale lives in Arizona.
The main foyer of the funeral home and the first room on the left,
after entering the home, still portray the original staircase and
wood work from 1869 when the home was built.
Smithfield is a very caring community. The people of the Smithfield
and surrounding communities have supported me and my family since
we acquired the Smithfield Funeral Home. I am proud to be a part
of Smithfield's caring community.
